Incorporation of TM in the general health system
By 2007 the MTP will have:
(1) Developed policies supported by appropriate legislation for incorporation of TM in the national health system;
(2) Strengthened coordination between the health system and related social sectors to promote the incorporation of useful traditional practices in the delivery of health care;
(3) Helped to select and effectively utilize useful traditional practices.

Research in TM
By 2007 the MTP will have strengthened the national capabilities to develop action-oriented studies in the field of TM.

Training in TM
By 2007 TMRI will have:
(1) Developed task-oriented training programmes for traditional practitioners to improve their knowledge, skill, attitudes, and competence in the delivery of health care at the primary level.
(2) Brought curricular reforms and incorporated essential components of TM into the training programmes of the various manpower training establishments.

Traditional drugs and therapeutic techniques and practices
By 2007 TMRI will have as many traditional medicinal ingredients of herbal, animal or mineral origin, as possible identified and tested for effectiveness and safety for treatment of man and animal in accordance with the cultural norms.
